The Only Healthcare Organization Honored at the Vietnam ESG Awards 2025:
ESG Is a Responsibility Embedded in Practical Operations
(Dân Trí) – At the Vietnam ESG Forum, Phuong Chau Healthcare Group, an organization honored at the Vietnam ESG Awards 2025, shared its perspective on implementing ESG practices in alignment with the sustainable development of the healthcare sector.
The 2025 Vietnam ESG Forum, themed “Science, Technology and Driving Forces for Sustainable Development,” was organized by Dân Trí Newspaper and took place at 1:30 p.m. on December 22 at Pullman Hanoi Hotel.
Phuong Chau Healthcare Group was one of five enterprises honored in Category G – Governance, receiving the title of “Outstanding Enterprise in Corporate Governance toward Sustainable Development.”

This category recognizes enterprises that have developed and operated transparent and effective governance systems, applied science, technology and data, and established a solid foundation for sustainable development.
Speaking at the Vietnam ESG Forum, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huyen, Deputy Director of Operations at Phuong Chau Healthcare Group, said that the Group approaches ESG not merely as a set of criteria, but first and foremost as a demonstration of respect and responsibility in operating a healthcare system.
According to Ms. Huyen, given that healthcare is closely connected with people, patients and the community, ESG implementation at Phuong Chau is built into the hospital’s daily operations. Environmental considerations, including medical waste management, resource conservation and emissions reduction, are directly integrated into operational processes.
“ESG must go beyond slogans. Employees are encouraged to reduce the use of single-use plastics, switch to reusable items, properly sort waste in accordance with regulations, conserve energy and accelerate digitalization to minimize waste generation,” Ms. Huyen emphasized.
At the same time, Phuong Chau places strong emphasis on ESG training and awareness-building among its workforce, considering this a fundamental factor in achieving sustainable transformation. These initiatives have been and continue to be implemented regularly across the entire healthcare system.

Regarding its assessment results, Phuong Chau has been evaluated by EcoVadis on its ESG performance since 2023. By 2025, the company’s ESG maturity score had increased from 15 to 51 out of 100, reflecting significant progress in sustainable governance.
Looking ahead, Phuong Chau’s leadership stated that the company has developed a long-term ESG plan for the 2025–2030 period.
From 2026 onward, the healthcare system will intensify efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, fully digitalize ESG data and apply technological tools, including artificial intelligence, to systematically monitor, measure and implement ESG practices under controlled processes.
Commenting on the Vietnam ESG Forum 2025, Ms. Huyen said that the event provided a valuable platform for businesses to gain a clearer understanding of Vietnam’s sustainable development strategy while learning from the ESG implementation experience of different industries.
“The Forum enables us to promote ESG values more widely throughout our entire healthcare system,” she said.
The Vietnam ESG Forum 2025 brought together speakers comprising leaders from State regulatory authorities, businesses and leading experts with significant influence in the ESG field, both domestically and internationally.
Beyond providing information, Dân Trí Newspaper has proactively organized forums that create an open platform for businesses to meet, exchange ideas and learn from one another. Many business representatives noted that Dân Trí Newspaper has introduced ESG to the corporate community in a systematic and practical manner.
These activities help businesses gain a deeper understanding of ESG that is closely aligned with their respective industry value chains and areas of operation, rather than approaching it merely as a general concept.
As part of the Vietnam ESG Forum 2025, the Vietnam ESG Awards 2025 ceremony honored 32 organizations. All of these organizations had demonstrated outstanding achievements in adopting and implementing ESG practices across several important award categories.
